Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.82% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 2.01% or 0.161 points to trade at 8.170 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 1.83% or 0.2550 points to end at 14.1550 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was up 1.78% or 0.0570 points to 3.2660 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which lost 1.16% or 0.0190 points to trade at 1.6170 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 0.41% or 0.0160 points to end at 3.8640 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) shed 0.26% or 0.0020 points to 0.7740.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 21 to 14 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.71% or 0.39 to $55.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.53% or 0.28 to hit $53.34 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.82% or 9.35 to trade at $1133.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.0394, while EUR/GBP rose 0.35% to 0.8418.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 103.27.
