Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 0.01% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which rose 6.72% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.1747 at the close. Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) added 6.02% or 0.0501 points to end at 0.8830 and GidroOGK-011D (MCX:HYDR) was up 3.09% or 0.0280 points to 0.9335 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR), which lost 3.57% or 85.0 points to trade at 2299.0 in late trade. Bashneft ANK ao (MCX:BANE) declined 3.44% or 128.5 points to end at 3604.0 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) shed 3.42% or 1.170 points to 33.000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 142 to 86 and 15 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 4.67% to 26.940.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.34% or 4.05 to $1199.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.83% or 0.41 to hit $48.87 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.84% or 0.44 to trade at $51.75 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.55% to 58.9740, while EUR/RUB rose 0.41% to 62.903.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.50% at 101.47.
