Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Manufacturing and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX lost 0.65%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which rose 4.65% or 0.0028 points to trade at 0.0619 at the close. Meanwhile, Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) added 3.33% or 0.0140 points to end at 0.4350 and Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) was up 2.22% or 15.90 points to 732.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sollers (MCX:SVAV), which fell 4.68% or 23.0 points to trade at 468.0 at the close. ANK Bashneft OAO Pref (MCX:BANE_p) declined 3.95% or 60.0 points to end at 1460.0 and E.ON Russia (MCX:EONR) was down 3.51% or 0.1020 points to 2.8000.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 111 to 103 and 13 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 1.64% to 39.700.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.45% or 5.10 to $1132.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.07% or 1.38 to hit $46.40 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 2.20% or 1.04 to trade at $48.52 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.46% to 66.147, while EUR/RUB fell 1.22% to 74.135.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.60% at 95.94.
