Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Trading, Information Technology and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 16.67% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.7000 at the close. Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO) added 15.55% or 7.40 points to end at 55.00 and Ceylon Tea Services PLC (CM:CTEA) was up 14.66% or 89.50 points to 700.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI), which lost 11.10% or 149.80 points to trade at 1200.00 in late trade. Lanka ORIX Leasing Company PLC (CM:LOLC) declined 10.00% or 7.80 points to end at 70.20 and Gestetner of Ceylon PLC (CM:GEST) shed 8.33% or 10.00 points to 110.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 78 to 63 and 55 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.55% or 0.28 to $50.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.33% or 0.18 to hit $53.84 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.58% or 6.55 to trade at $1136.35 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.34% to 184.895, while USD/LKR rose 0.03% to 148.780.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 102.91.
