Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Land & Property and Trading sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 16.67% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.7000 at the close. Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO) added 15.42% or 220.40 points to end at 1650.00 and Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) was up 11.11% or 0.100 points to 1.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Amana Takaful Life Ltd (CM:ANTK), which lost 15.38% or 0.20 points to trade at 1.10 in late trade. First Capital Holdings PLC (CM:CFVF) declined 8.93% or 2.50 points to end at 25.50 and Colombo City Holdings PLC (CM:PHAR) shed 8.86% or 78.00 points to 802.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 104 to 60 and 51 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.53% or 0.27 to $51.35 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.61% or 0.33 to hit $54.25 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.81% or 9.85 to trade at $1202.25 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.55% to 185.900, while USD/LKR rose 0.51% to 151.030.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 101.12.
