Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Services, Investment Trust and Footwear & Textile sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.72% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 20.00% or 0.10 points to trade at 0.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) added 14.29% or 0.100 points to end at 0.800 and J L Morison Sons & Jones (Ceylon) PLC (CM:MORI) was up 10.86% or 38.00 points to 388.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ), which fell 17.55% or 408.70 points to trade at 1920.00 at the close. Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) declined 16.50% or 9.70 points to end at 49.10 and Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) was down 12.69% or 268.80 points to 1850.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 157 to 48 and 17 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.38% or 0.12 to $33.40 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.73% or 0.24 to hit $33.99 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.98% or 10.90 to trade at $1096.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.03% to 209.445, while USD/LKR fell 0.55% to 143.275.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.52% at 98.80.
