Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Wood, Paper & Printing and Basic Metals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Celebi (IS:CLEBI), which rose 4.43% or 1.40 points to trade at 33.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) added 4.17% or 0.010 points to end at 0.240 and Ford Otosan (IS:FROTO) was up 3.89% or 1.15 points to 30.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR), which fell 4.73% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.610 at the close. Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS) declined 3.70% or 0.45 points to end at 11.70 and Menderes Tekstil (IS:MNDRS) was down 3.64% or 0.020 points to 0.530.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 205 to 193 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.91% or 10.30 to $1123.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.10% or 0.97 to hit $47.22 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.38% or 0.69 to trade at $51.20 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.73% to 2.9630, while EUR/TRY fell 0.27% to 3.2946.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.66% at 96.52.
