Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials, Industrials and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which rose 3.24% or 1.820 points to trade at 57.920 at the close. Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) added 1.99% or 4.900 points to end at 250.930 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) was up 1.83% or 0.460 points to 25.560 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which lost 1.40% or 0.260 points to trade at 18.360 in late trade. Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) declined 1.36% or 0.25 points to end at 18.19 and Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) shed 1.28% or 1.470 points to 113.600.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 80 to 59 and 14 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.36% or 4.30 to $1183.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $47.98 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.14% or 0.07 to trade at $48.88 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.02% to 20.7413, while EUR/MXN rose 0.03% to 21.8943.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 101.77.
