Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.86%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 4.24% or 14.350 points to trade at 352.490 at the close. Meanwhile, Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) added 3.21% or 5.280 points to end at 169.700 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) was up 2.72% or 2.340 points to 88.490 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were America Movil L , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL), which fell 4.38% or 0.550 points to trade at 12.010 at the close. Industrias CH, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICHB) declined 2.95% or 1.590 points to end at 52.250 and Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) was down 0.61% or 0.14 points to 22.84.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 86 to 45 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Industrias CH, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICHB) fell to 3-years lows; down 2.95% or 1.590 to 52.250.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.39% or 4.70 to $1193.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.20% or 0.34 to hit $27.61 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 2.52% or 0.77 to trade at $31.09 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.39% to 18.8739, while EUR/MXN rose 0.21% to 21.2791.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 95.96.
