Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Auto, Electricity and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Epileds Tech (TW:4956), which rose 10.00% or 2.10 points to trade at 23.10 at the close. Taisol (TW:3338) added 10.00% or 2.95 points to end at 32.45 and Candmark (TW:5259) was up 9.95% or 0.19 points to 2.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418), which lost 5.81% or 0.27 points to trade at 4.38 in late trade. Sumagh High-Te (TW:1475) declined 3.81% or 0.40 points to end at 10.10 and Young Fast (TW:3622) shed 3.24% or 0.50 points to 14.95.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 418 to 316 and 116 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.15% or 0.07 to $47.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $49.42 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.18% or 2.45 to trade at $1324.65 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.20% to 31.730, while TWD/CNY fell 0.19% to 0.2100.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 95.70.
