Investment Strategy

The Sub-fund’s investment objective is to achieve capital growth over a rolling seven to ten year period as well as providing income. The Sub-fund’s target is to have a return greater than the FTSE All-Share Total Return index (12pm adjusted), which is used in the calculation of performance fees. At least two thirds of the Sub-fund is invested in the shares of companies which are domiciled, incorporated or have a significant portion of their business in the UK. Up to 10% of the Sub-fund may be invested in the shares of non-UK listed companies. Up to one third of the Sub-fund may be held in cash, money market instruments, deposits, warrants and units in other collective investment schemes. The Sub-fund will invest in a concentrated portfolio of 20-40 companies.

Biography John joined JOHCM in October 2005. John qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Ernst & Young and joined Newton Investment Management 1995 as an analyst. There he managed the UK Opportunities Fund since February 2002, but also a number of specialist funds, both benchmark constrained and unconstrained. As a Director in Newton's UK Equity team he was also responsible for constructing model portfolios for UK equities.

Biography Ben has been with JOHCM since April 2006, when he joined to work on the UK Opportunities Strategy. He was previously at Schroder Investment Management as a Financial Analyst in their Pan-European equity research department. Ben is a CFA Charterholder and holds a MA (Hons) in History from the University of Cambridge. He was voted one of Financial News's '40 under 40' Rising Stars in Asset Management, 2015.
