The investment objective of the Sub-Fund is to provide investors with regular income/cash flow distributions as well as long term capital appreciation through investing in Sharia’s compliant equity securities listed on the stock exchanges in the GCC. The universe of securities will be largely drawn from Sharia’a compliant equity and equity-related securities listed on the various GCC exchanges. The Sub-Fund may invest directly in these Sharia’s compliant equity and equity-related securities or indirectly through eligible instruments such as, but not limited to, Participatory Notes ("P-Notes"), American Depositary Receipts (ADRs), Global Depositary Receipts (GDRs) and listed certificates, which represent an economic interest and have a rate of return that is linked to an underlying equity or basket of equities

Biography | Ali Taqi joined Rasmala in July 2016 as Head of Equities. Ali brings nearly 16 years of buy-side investment experience and business development; CFA charterholder with a Masters of Engineering degree in Operations Research & Industrial Engineering and Dean’s Certificate in Financial Engineering from Cornell University. Ali’s career started in the United States with Manning and Napier Advisors as part of the equity research team. He worked at National Bank of Kuwait and Gulf Investment Corporation before setting up A/T Capital Management in 2008. As Head of Equities, Ali is responsible for managing Rasmala’s regional equity strategy; as well as further developing regional equity business including upcoming product innovation and expansion. | ||

Biography | Mr. Shabbir joined Rasmala Investments Saudi in 2008 as Head of Asset Management (Saudi). Prior to that, Mr. Shabbir worked with Samba Capital’s asset management division as Fund Manager and Head of Research. He had also served with Cyprus-based international rating agency Capital Intelligence as Bank Credit Analyst covering banks in the Middle East and Asia. Mr. Shabbir holds a Master of Science degree in International Banking and Financial Studies from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. He is also a CFA Charterholder. |
