Investment Strategy

The investment objective of the Fund is to achieve long term capital appreciation. The Fund will seek to achieve its investment objective by investing in a diversified portfolio of securities of North American companies. The Investment Manager will invest in large, medium and small capitalisation companies depending on market liquidity and as it judges the available opportunities.

Biography Andrew Holliman joined Polar Capital in August 2011 to establish the North American investment team and he set up the Global Equities team in 2012. He is lead manager of the North American Fund and the Global Alpha Fund. Prior to joining Polar Capital, he spent seven years at Threadneedle where he managed the highly rated US$2.5bn Threadneedle American Fund as well as a number of global funds including the Threadneedle Global Focus Fund and the Threadneedle and Columbia Global Extended Alpha Funds. Andrew began his investment career in 1997 as an analyst on the American and UK Smaller Caps teams at Baillie Gifford before becoming fund manager of the award winning American Fund. He graduated with a First Class BCom (Hons) in Business Studies from the University of Edinburgh, a MSc in Investment Analysis from the University of Stirling, and is a CFA Charterholder.
Richard Wilson - 2011 Now
Biography Richard Wilson joined Polar Capital in August 2011 to establish the North American investment team and is co-manager of the North American Fund. Prior to joining Polar Capital, he spent nine years at Threadneedle where he managed more than US$4.5bn of institutional mandates on the North American Equities team and led the Global Industrial Sector Group. Richard began his investment career in 1999 as an Analyst on the US Equities team at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers. He graduated with a First Class MA (Hons) in History of Art from the University of Edinburgh and is a CFA Charterholder.
