Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Mining and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.50% to hit a new 3-year high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which rose 16.88% or 0.026 points to trade at 0.180 at the close. Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) added 2.15% or 0.060 points to end at 2.850 and Casa Grande (LM:CSG) was up 1.61% or 0.100 points to 6.300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Candente Copper (LM:DNT), which lost 5.33% or 0.0040 points to trade at 0.0710 in late trade. Panoro (LM:PML) declined 1.74% or 0.004 points to end at 0.226 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) shed 1.70% or 0.010 points to 0.580.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 9 and 15 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.12% or 0.06 to $49.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $55.51 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.29% or 3.88 to trade at $1325.42 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.36% to 3.2485, while EUR/PEN rose 0.80% to 3.8808.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 91.83.
