The Abax Equity Prescient Fund is a South African Equity General Institutional Unit Trust. The Fund remains fully invested in listed South African companies, and is managed in accordance with the Collective Investment Schemes Control Act and with the rules and regulations specified by the Association of Savings and Investment SA. The Abax Investment management team is responsible for the management of the investments held in the fund, and Prescient Management Company (RF) (Pty) Limited is responsible for the overall management, compliance and administration of unit holders' investments in the fund. The portfolio is managed through a White Label agreement under the Prescient Unit Trust Scheme. The Abax Equity Prescient Fund aims to outperform the JSE Shareholder Weighted Index (JSE SWIX) and the Average of its peer group of funds (the General Equity Sector) over the medium and long term.

Biography | Marius is the third of the three founding members of Abax Investments. He worked at Brait Specialised Funds from September 2001 to June 2003, where he was one of the team that started the Brait Hedge Fund of Funds business. Prior to Brait, Marius worked at Nedcor Investment Bank (previously Syfrets Managed Assets) as an information technology analyst. At NIB Marius was responsible for the management of unit trusts and pension funds, in addition to his specialist role as technology analyst: domestic and international. Marius's career started as an engineer and management consultant for AECI and Gemini Consulting respectively - focusing on oil, energy and financial services related projects |
