Investment Strategy

The objective of the Fund is to generate positive returns over the medium term, irrespective of market conditions, by way of blending fixed income-type instruments, property investments and equity instruments. The portfolio will have an absolute return performance objective over the medium term, but will still be relatively conservatively managed by diversifying across a wide range of asset classes. In order for the portfolio to meet its investment objectives, it will apart from assets in liquid form, follow an active asset allocation strategy across money market instruments, bond, income, preference share, property and equity instruments. The portfolio will also be allowed to invest in listed and unlisted financial instruments as allowed by the Act. The manager will furthermore have the ability to reduce the potential volatility of the equity instruments by employing equity hedging strategies through derivatives.
