He was directly responsible for over $6 billion in AUM.Before joining HSBC, Derek worked at TAL Global Asset Management for nine years, first as an Analyst and then as Portfolio Manager. Derek has been a CFA charterholder since September 1998. Prior to this he earned an MA in Economics from Dalhousie University and a BA (Honours) in Economics from Queen’s University.

Biography	Jim Huggan, CFA Bcomm, joined the firm in July 1999 as a Senior Portfolio Manager, responsible for Canadian Fixed Income. Prior to this, Jim spent over 2 years as a Senior Portfolio Manager for the Fixed Income Component of the Workers' Compensation Board of BC Accident fund. Previously, Jim was a Portfolio Manager at the British Columbia Provincial Treasury Investments Branch and has over 12 years of investment experience.
