Investment Strategy

The investment seeks to provide growth of capital. The fund seeks to achieve its objective by investing, under normal circumstances, at least 80% of its net assets in common stocks of small-capitalization companies. For purposes of this fund, small-capitalization companies typically are companies with market capitalizations similar to those of issuers included in the Russell 2000® Growth Index over the last 13 months at the time of acquisition.

Biography Kenneth G. McQuade was named co portfolio manager of the small cap growth product suit in 2016. He was sole portfolio manager of Ivy VIP Small Growth from 2016 to 2016. Mr. McQuade joined Waddell & Reed in 1997 as an investment analyst. He was an assistant portfolio manager of separately managed small cap accounts from August 2003 until March 2010 and Portfolio Manager, Delaware Ivy VIP Small Cap Growth Fund since March 2006. Mr. McQuade is Senior Vice President of WRIMCO and IICO and Vice President of the Trust. He earned a BS degree in finance from Bradley University.

Biography Mr. Miller, CFA, Co-Portfolio Manager of the small cap growth product suite since 2016 and was Portfolio Manager, Delaware Ivy Small Cap Growth Fund since April 2010.He joined IICO in February 2008 and has served as the portfolio manager for investment companies managed by IICO (or its affiliates) since March 2008. Previous employment included serving as the Chief Investment Officer of Invesco Funds Group, Inc., and as the Chief Investment Officer of the Denver Investment Center of Invesco North America. Mr. Miller holds a BS degree in Business Administration from St. Louis University.

Biography Mr. Halverson has been a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager of DIFA’s mid cap growth strategy since 2021. Prior to joining DIFA, Mr. Halverson served as Senior Vice President of Ivy since 2018 and served as Portfolio Manager of Ivy’s small cap growth strategy since 2016. He began his investment career in 2002 and has a BS and MS from Brigham Young University and an MBA from the University of Michigan.

Mr. Scott is lead portfolio manager of small cap growth institutional accounts for Waddell & Reed. He joined Waddell & Reed in 1997 as an investment analyst. Prior to joining Waddell & Reed, Mr. Scott was affiliated with Hallmark Cards as a project manager in Strategy/Marketing Finance. Gil earned a BBA, Finance from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from the University of Texas.

Biography Mr. Sarris, CFA, joined Chiron as Portfolio Manager in 2015. Previously, Mr. Sarris served as a portfolio manager at Kornitzer Capital Management from 2003--2013. From 2013-2015, Mr.Sarris managed his personal portfolio. Mr. Sarris has been an investment professional since 1991. Prior to joining KCM, he was a senior vice president and portfolio manager with Waddell & Reed Investment Management Company. He holds an M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota and a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin.
Mark G. Seferovich Senior Vice President 1992 2002
Biography Seferovich joined Waddell & Reed Investment Management Company in February 1989 and is currently senior vice president and equity portfolio manager. He is also a member of the company's common stock policy committee. Previously, he worked for Security Management Company as a portfolio manager. Prior to that, he served as a security analyst and portfolio manager with Reimer & Koger Associates from 1974 to 1981. Seferovich holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
