The fund primarily invests in a diversified portfolio of fixed income securities of all types, including investment-grade securities such as U.S. government securities, corporate bonds, asset-backed securities, and mortgage-backed securities. The dollar-weighted average duration of the fund's portfolio is normally expected to be less than 18 months, but may vary outside that range from time to time. Under normal circumstances, at least 80% of the fund's net assets plus any borrowings for investment purposes will be invested in debt securities (bonds).
