Biography With an extensive career in asset management and institutional banking, Phil is a credit specialist with a deep understanding of the fixed income landscape. He is Portfolio Manager of the Yarra Higher Income Strategy and Deputy Portfolio Manager for Yarra’s RMBS and LBO strategies. In his more than 10 years managing portfolios and 20 years analysing financial markets/securities, Phil has amassed extensive experience in all major credit segments. These include listed/unlisted, rated/unrated, investment and sub-investment grade, bonds/loans and derivative instruments. Prior to joining Yarra Capital Management in May 2017, Phil spent 8 years with Victorian Funds Management Corporation (VFMC) in senior roles managing credit portfolios. He previously spent approximately 4 years with Challenger as a Senior Analyst and a Portfolio Manager, following more than 10 years with National Australia Bank where he worked first as an Economist and Analyst before moving into the institutional banking team to cover credit. Phil holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Australian Institute of Management, a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from Latrobe University and a Graduate Diploma Applied Finance and Investment (FINSIA).

Biography Roy is a senior leader within the Fixed Income team at Yarra Capital Management, focusing on Australian Fixed Income and Credit. Roy has over 30 years’ investment experience both in asset management and trading, specialising in credit products since 1995. He has been part of the investment management team for the Yarra Enhanced Income Funds since the Funds’ inception in 2002 and continues to manage these Funds. Roy is also co-portfolio manager of the Yarra Income Plus Fund. Before transitioning to Yarra Capital Management, Roy was Head of Australian Credit at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. He joined Goldman Sachs in 1992, where he worked within the firm’s securities division as a price maker/trader in government and corporate bonds, and from 1997 served as Head of the Fixed Income Desk where he specialised in broking and trading high yield products. He joined the Asset Management division in 2008. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Roy worked for four years in the Investment Management Division of the State Insurance Office. In 1988, Roy moved to the Treasury Corporation of Victoria and specialised in liability management of debt products, both domestically and offshore. Roy holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from Swinburne University, Melbourne.
