George Smith

LPL Financial

George Smith is a Portfolio Strategist for LPL Financial. He chairs the Tactical Model Portfolio Committee (MPC), which manages LPL Research’s multi-asset tactical models across multiple managed account platforms. George is the vice chair of the Strategic and Core Series MPCs, and chairs Research’s benchmarks sub-committee, which provides expertise on investment performance management at LPL. He also assists in the development of quantitative methods to enhance portfolio management and portfolio construction.

George helps shape LPL Research’s overall asset allocation, investment strategy, and market views. He is a frequent author of LPL Research’s thought leadership publications and a member of the Strategic Asset and Allocation Committee (STAAC), which provides a united investment view across a comprehensive range of investing disciplines.

George joined the Research team in 2019. Before that, he was manager in the Overlay Portfolio Management Group, which provided oversight and support for LPL Financial’s centrally-managed advisor platforms.
