Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 0.98%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMAS), which rose 1.72% or 0.66 points to trade at 38.99 at the close. UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V) added 0.43% or 0.07 points to end at 16.44 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) was up 0.31% or 0.010 points to 3.282 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V), which lost 5.88% or 1.90 points to trade at 30.40 in late trade. Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) declined 1.94% or 0.72 points to end at 36.30 and Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V) shed 1.87% or 0.155 points to 8.130.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 132 to 44 and 12 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.33% or 0.15 to $44.82 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.41% or 0.18 to hit $43.83 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.84% or 10.90 to trade at $1280.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.1490, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.7930.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.27% at 93.27.
