Investment Strategy

The investment seeks to provide shareholders with income exempt from Federal and California income taxes. Under normal circumstances, the fund will invest at least 80% of its assets in California municipal bonds. At least 50% of its assets will be invested in investment grade securities. The fund may invest in both fixed rate and variable rate obligations. It may invest up to 50% of its assets in non-investment grade bonds.
