Investment Strategy

The investment seeks to obtain a favorable long-term total return through both capital appreciation and current income, by investing primarily in equity securities of companies principally engaged in or related to the real estate industry. The fund invests at least 80% of its assets in the securities of companies that are principally engaged in or related to the real estate industry, including those that own significant real estate assets. It may invest up to 15% of its assets in real estate securities of foreign issuers and up to 20% of its assets in equity and debt securities of issuers that are not engaged in or related to the real estate industry.

Mr. Campagna joined TIAA-CREF in February 2005 and has more than 15 years of investment experience. His prior experience includes seven years at Mellon Capital Management where he was responsible for several mandates and was an index strategy manager for MSCI® EAFE®. Mr. Campagna earned his B.A. in economics from the University of California, Irvine. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Biography	Sapp has worked for TIAA-CREF since 2004. From 2001 to 2004, prior to joining TIAA-CREF, she was the lead equity portfolio manager at Mellon Transition Management. From 1996 to 2000, she ran index portfolios for Mellon Capital Management, and served as co-manager of the index team. Sapp holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
