The investment seeks high current income and modest capital appreciation; capital preservation is the secondary objective. Under normal market conditions, the fund seeks to achieve its investment objectives by investing at least 80% of its assets (net assets, plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in lending to businesses. The fund may invest in below-investment grade debt securities or "junk" debt securities and non-rated debt or equity securities. The fund may invest directly in foreign debt and equity securities, including those from emerging markets, issued in both U.S. dollars and foreign currencies. The fund is non-diversified.
