Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.92% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 4.82% or 0.396 points to trade at 8.616 at the close. SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO) added 2.20% or 0.32 points to end at 14.61 and Randstad (AS:RAND) was up 1.64% or 0.89 points to 55.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KPN Kon (AS:KPN), which lost 0.50% or 0.013 points to trade at 2.604 in late trade. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) declined 0.27% or 0.60 points to end at 218.40 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) shed 0.01% or 0.01 points to 73.66.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 90 to 41 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.25% to 13.20.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.82% or 0.98 to $52.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 2.06% or 1.17 to hit $55.53 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.86% or 10.65 to trade at $1225.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.37% to 1.0601, while EUR/GBP fell 0.46% to 0.8479.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 101.00.
