Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Healthcare and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 0.76% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr), which rose 13.64% or 0.021 points to trade at 0.175 at the close. Meanwhile, Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 10.37% or 0.014 points to end at 0.149 and Elgeka (AT:ELGr) was up 9.57% or 0.020 points to 0.229 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr), which fell 6.14% or 0.24 points to trade at 3.67 at the close. Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) declined 4.20% or 0.06 points to end at 1.37 and Frigoglass (AT:FRIr) was down 3.94% or 0.08 points to 1.95.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 52 to 47 and 6 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 1.75% or 19.50 to $1136.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.92% or 1.37 to hit $45.53 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.62% or 0.80 to trade at $48.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.62% to 1.1364, while EUR/GBP fell 0.55% to 0.7295.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.25% at 94.87.
