Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Media, Oil & Gas and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which rose 3.87% or 0.83 points to trade at 22.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 3.32% or 2.19 points to end at 68.10 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) was up 2.90% or 0.20 points to 7.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which fell 3.63% or 1.95 points to trade at 51.70 at the close. Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) declined 2.68% or 3.97 points to end at 144.00 and Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) was down 1.78% or 0.50 points to 27.62.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 305 to 299 and 95 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 1.56% or 0.56 to $36.37 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.07% or 0.03 to hit $36.38 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.55% or 5.90 to trade at $1074.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.11% to 4.2568, while USD/PLN fell 0.50% to 3.8772.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.38% at 98.06.
