Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food, Healthcare and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 14.62% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.149 at the close. Meanwhile, Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr) added 8.42% or 0.03 points to end at 0.44 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) was up 4.00% or 0.10 points to 2.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dromeas (AT:DROr), which fell 10.00% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.117 at the close. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) declined 8.32% or 0.89 points to end at 9.81 and Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) was down 7.32% or 0.009 points to 0.114.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 53 to 47 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.08% or 12.10 to $1108.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.26% or 0.58 to hit $45.36 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.28% or 0.64 to trade at $48.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.40% to 1.1157, while EUR/GBP fell 0.24% to 0.7260.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.42% at 96.24.
