Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 2.60% or 1.990 points to trade at 78.490 at the close. SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO) added 2.17% or 0.32 points to end at 15.04 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) was up 2.03% or 0.154 points to 7.752 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Randstad (AS:RAND), which lost 2.21% or 1.23 points to trade at 54.42 in late trade. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) declined 1.15% or 2.50 points to end at 215.20 and Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) shed 0.94% or 0.74 points to 77.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 83 to 43 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.65% to 13.49.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.84% or 0.88 to $48.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.63% or 0.83 to hit $51.73 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 0.95 to trade at $1254.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.0844, while EUR/GBP rose 0.37% to 0.8681.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 99.19.
