Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.67%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Relapasa (LM:REL), which rose 7.33% or 0.017 points to trade at 0.249 at the close. Minsur (LM:MINi) added 5.00% or 0.070 points to end at 1.470 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was up 4.00% or 0.020 points to 0.520 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Panoro (LM:PML), which lost 10.34% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.130 in late trade. Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE) declined 6.78% or 0.040 points to end at 0.550 and Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG) shed 3.85% or 0.050 points to 1.250.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 11 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.79% or 0.36 to $45.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.06% or 0.50 to hit $46.45 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.01% or 0.15 to trade at $1224.65 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.39% to 3.4050, while EUR/PEN fell 1.65% to 3.6391.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 100.40.
