Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 1.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Valmt (HE:VALMT), which rose 1.88% or 0.20 points to trade at 10.85 at the close. Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) added 0.50% or 0.025 points to end at 5.075 and Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMAS) was down 0.62% or 0.23 points to 36.63 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which lost 6.63% or 0.250 points to trade at 3.520 in late trade. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) declined 6.29% or 0.2340 points to end at 3.4860 and YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) shed 3.21% or 0.20 points to 6.19.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 151 to 28 and 12 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 3.19% or 1.56 to $47.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 3.17% or 1.52 to hit $46.49 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 1.30% or 16.70 to trade at $1305.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.59% to 1.1193, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.7910.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.42% at 95.07.
