Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Trading and Footwear & Textile sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Chilaw Finance PLC (CM:CHIL), which rose 34.62% or 6.30 points to trade at 24.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Hapugastenne Plantations PLC (CM:HAPU) added 25.00% or 5.50 points to end at 27.50 and Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) was up 22.51% or 9.70 points to 52.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elpitiya Plantations PLC (CM:ELPL), which fell 11.36% or 2.50 points to trade at 19.50 at the close. Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) declined 10.83% or 7.30 points to end at 60.10 and Dipped Products PLC (CM:DIPD) was down 9.18% or 8.90 points to 88.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 115 to 61 and 49 ended unchanged.
Shares in Dipped Products PLC (CM:DIPD) fell to 52-week lows; losing 9.18% or 8.90 to 88.00.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.84% or 0.27 to $31.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.41% or 0.14 to hit $34.60 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.16% or 1.90 to trade at $1159.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.24% to 209.305, while USD/LKR fell 0.24% to 143.605.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 96.68.
