Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Non-Metal Minerals and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 1.21% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO), which rose 13.41% or 0.680 points to trade at 5.750 at the close. Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) added 12.22% or 0.049 points to end at 0.450 and Atacocha (LM:ATB) was up 11.11% or 0.020 points to 0.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which lost 3.51% or 0.200 points to trade at 5.500 in late trade. Panoro (LM:PML) unchanged 0% or 0 points to end at 0.110 and Enersur SA (LM:ENE) shed 1.73% or 0.130 points to 7.370.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 24 to 6 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 4.77% or 1.65 to $36.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 4.99% or 1.85 to hit $38.92 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.15% or 1.90 to trade at $1260.10 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.66% to 3.4405, while EUR/PEN rose 0.07% to 3.8037.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.38% at 97.24.
