Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Technology and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.90%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which rose 1.14% or 0.68 points to trade at 60.53 at the close. Meanwhile, Relx NV (AS:RELN) added 0.49% or 0.070 points to end at 14.410 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) was up 0.37% or 0.02 points to 5.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ASML Holding (AS:ASML), which fell 4.39% or 3.42 points to trade at 74.47 at the close. Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) declined 3.85% or 0.30 points to end at 7.55 and Ahold Kon (AS:AHLN) was down 3.57% or 0.64 points to 17.31.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 107 to 62 and 5 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.73% to 24.57.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.79% or 0.37 to $46.29 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.37% or 0.18 to hit $49.51 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.95% or 11.10 to trade at $1176.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.56% to 1.1443, while EUR/GBP fell 0.74% to 0.7407.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.60% at 94.23.
