Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Electricity and Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.16% to hit a new 3-years low.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO), which rose 27.00% or 1.350 points to trade at 6.350 at the close. Meanwhile, Buenaventura (LM:BVN) added 4.41% or 0.150 points to end at 3.550 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was up 2.08% or 0.005 points to 0.245 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sider (LM:SID), which fell 8.89% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.082 at the close. Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) declined 6.25% or 0.800 points to end at 12.000 and Casa Grande (LM:CSG) was down 5.06% or 0.160 points to 3.000.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 16 to 8 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sider (LM:SID) fell to all time lows; falling 8.89% or 0.008 to 0.082. Shares in Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) fell to 52-week lows; down 6.25% or 0.800 to 12.000. Shares in Casa Grande (LM:CSG) fell to 3-years lows; losing 5.06% or 0.160 to 3.000.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 2.96% or 0.88 to $28.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 2.17% or 0.62 to hit $28.14 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 1.10% or 12.00 to trade at $1101.10 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.35% to 3.4455, while EUR/PEN rose 0.54% to 3.7500.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.04% at 99.14.
