Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.76% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which rose 3.41% or 0.140 points to trade at 4.240 at the close. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 2.29% or 0.1250 points to end at 5.5900 and Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) was up 1.96% or 0.100 points to 5.190 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which lost 0.72% or 0.27 points to trade at 37.19 in late trade. Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) declined 0.65% or 0.26 points to end at 39.95 and Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V) shed 0.63% or 0.09 points to 14.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 116 to 52 and 22 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 1.46% or 0.69 to $47.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.38% or 0.62 to hit $45.45 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.42% or 5.65 to trade at $1348.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1238, while EUR/GBP rose 0.62% to 0.8428.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 94.98.
