Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Telecoms and Land & Property sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were F L C Holdings PLC (CM:FREE), which rose 66.67% or 0.600 points to trade at 1.500 at the close. Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) added 50.00% or 0.300 points to end at 0.900 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 50.00% or 0.2000 points to 0.6000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Royal Palms Beach Hotels PLC (CM:RPBH), which lost 14.41% or 3.30 points to trade at 19.60 in late trade. Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM:LAMB) declined 10.69% or 10.80 points to end at 90.20 and Horana Plantations PLC (CM:HOPL) shed 10.65% or 1.80 points to 15.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 109 to 58 and 54 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.73% or 0.35 to $48.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.65% or 0.33 to hit $51.23 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.14% or 1.75 to trade at $1253.95 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.09% to 190.940, while USD/LKR rose 0.01% to 151.960.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 99.05.
