Investing.com – Sweden equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 added 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were SSAB AB ser. A (ST:SSABa), which rose 5.67% or 1.14 points to trade at 21.24 at the close. Fingerprint Cards AB ser. B (ST:FINGb) added 3.00% or 2.45 points to end at 84.00 and Boliden AB (ST:BOL) was up 2.92% or 4.50 points to 158.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nordea Bank AB (ST:NDA), which lost 6.05% or 4.75 points to trade at 73.80 in late trade. AstraZeneca PLC (ST:AZN) declined 0.65% or 3.1 points to end at 477.2 and ABB Ltd (ST:ABB) shed 0.51% or 0.9 points to 176.4.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 396 to 156 and 64 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.71% or 0.35 to $49.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.70% or 0.35 to hit $50.23 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.30% or 3.75 to trade at $1266.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was down 0.51% to 9.2866, while USD/SEK fell 1.14% to 8.1720.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.36% at 93.47.
