Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.83% to hit a new 5-year high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were KPN Kon (AS:KPN), which rose 3.01% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.735 at the close. NN Group (AS:NN) added 2.37% or 0.72 points to end at 31.16 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was up 2.00% or 0.78 points to 39.77 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO), which lost 1.26% or 1.01 points to trade at 79.27 in late trade. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 0.66% or 0.12 points to end at 18.89 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) shed 0.33% or 0.024 points to 7.219.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 87 to 45 and 7 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 1.42% to 13.25.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.06% or 0.52 to $48.32 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.85% or 0.44 to hit $51.08 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.07% or 0.94 to trade at $1256.44 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.0911, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8443.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 98.96.
