TORONTO, Oct 13 (Reuters) - The leader of Canada's Liberal
Party, in a tight race to become the country's next prime
minister, said on Tuesday that his party would not abstain from
a crucial vote that would allow the Conservatives to form a
minority government after the election.
Justin Trudeau had said previously that he would not vote to
support a minority Conservative government led by Stephen
Harper. Asked on Tuesday whether he might abstain on a vote if
Harper wins the most seats, a move that could indirectly keep a
Conservative minority government in power, he said he would not.
"There is no circumstance in which I could either support
him or even stand back and allow him to continue to be prime
minister," said Trudeau at a campaign event in Toronto.
