Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Materials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 1.85%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV), which rose 4.18% or 0.300 points to trade at 7.480 at the close. YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) added 3.40% or 0.21 points to end at 6.38 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) was up 3.18% or 0.134 points to 4.350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which lost 0.70% or 0.22 points to trade at 31.37 in late trade. Amer Sports Corporation (HE:AMEAS) added 0.37% or 0.09 points to end at 24.43 and Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) gained 0.62% or 0.23 points to 37.61.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 136 to 33 and 16 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.50% or 0.23 to $46.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.33% or 0.15 to hit $45.29 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.48% or 6.55 to trade at $1355.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.1042, while EUR/GBP fell 0.44% to 0.8530.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 96.42.
