Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Trading, Investment Trust and Footwear & Textile sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.20% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL), which rose 28.57% or 0.200 points to trade at 0.900 at the close. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 20.00% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.6000 and Lighthouse Hotel PLC (CM:LHL) was up 18.37% or 9.00 points to 58.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL), which lost 23.90% or 19.60 points to trade at 62.40 in late trade. Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) declined 14.44% or 3.90 points to end at 23.10 and Renuka City Hotel PLC (CM:RENU) shed 8.33% or 25.00 points to 275.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 141 to 46 and 56 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.15% or 0.08 to $53.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.14% or 0.08 to hit $55.90 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.44% or 5.55 to trade at $1259.45 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.20% to 188.835, while USD/LKR rose 0.10% to 151.920.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 100.78.
