Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 2.26% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which rose 2.74% or 0.18 points to trade at 6.76 at the close. Meanwhile, Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) added 1.31% or 0.50 points to end at 38.79 and Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) was up 0.73% or 0.21 points to 29.11 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which fell 6.64% or 0.85 points to trade at 11.95 at the close. Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) declined 5.55% or 3.29 points to end at 55.97 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was down 5.15% or 1.21 points to 22.29.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 323 to 200 and 109 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.58% or 0.84 to $52.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.81% or 0.47 to hit $56.70 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.85% or 9.90 to trade at $1156.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.31% to 4.2156, while USD/PLN rose 1.19% to 3.8471.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.75% at 97.15.
