Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Chemicals and Travel & Leisure sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.41%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Tenaris (MILAN:TENR), which rose 2.45% or 0.2600 points to trade at 10.8700 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics (MILAN:STM) added 1.93% or 0.110 points to end at 5.820 and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS) was up 1.92% or 0.0290 points to 1.5400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset (MILAN:MS), which fell 4.89% or 0.208 points to trade at 4.042 at the close. A2A (MILAN:A2) declined 4.09% or 0.046 points to end at 1.079 and Finmeccanica (MILAN:SIFI) was down 3.37% or 0.380 points to 10.910.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 299 to 142 and 2 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.25% or 1.00 to $45.43 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 2.23% or 1.05 to hit $48.40 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.09% or 1.00 to trade at $1130.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1257, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.7423.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 96.02.
