Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which rose 1.66% or 0.60 points to trade at 36.81 at the close. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 1.55% or 0.1400 points to end at 9.1800 and Kesko Oyj (HE:KESKOB) was up 1.45% or 0.63 points to 44.09 in late trade.
Biggest losers included YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V), which lost 1.17% or 0.07 points to trade at 6.34 in late trade. Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) declined 1.09% or 0.51 points to end at 46.30 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) shed 0.59% or 0.23 points to 38.99.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 82 to 56 and 15 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 1.85% or 0.95 to $52.37 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 2.01% or 0.97 to hit $49.34 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.41% or 5.15 to trade at $1250.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.0753, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8666.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 99.92.
