Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which rose 4.38% or 1.45 points to trade at 34.59 at the close. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 3.00% or 3.17 points to end at 108.67 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was up 2.06% or 2.50 points to 123.98 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which lost 1.75% or 0.80 points to trade at 44.90 in late trade. Synthos SA (WA:SNS) declined 1.47% or 0.070 points to end at 4.690 and mBank (WA:MBK) shed 0.83% or 3.85 points to 460.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 243 to 239 and 189 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.55% or 0.74 to $48.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.33% or 0.67 to hit $50.87 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.27% or 3.40 to trade at $1248.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.25% to 4.2538, while USD/PLN fell 0.15% to 3.6559.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 94.00.
