Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HEL:OUT1V), which rose 4.17% or 0.1520 points to trade at 3.7980 at the close. Meanwhile, UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HEL:UPM1V) added 3.15% or 0.47 points to end at 15.38 and Fortum Oyj (HEL:FUM1V) was up 1.59% or 0.25 points to 15.93 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were YIT Oyj (HEL:YTY1V), which fell 2.19% or 0.14 points to trade at 6.26 at the close. Konecranes Oyj (HEL:KCR1V) declined 1.72% or 0.43 points to end at 24.57 and Amer Sports Corporation (HEL:AMEAS) was down 1.54% or 0.36 points to 22.99.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 91 to 78 and 7 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for August delivery was down 0.48% or 0.28 to $56.58 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.64% or 0.86 to hit $51.47 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.73% or 8.40 to trade at $1161.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.50% to 1.1068, while EUR/GBP rose 1.32% to 0.7215.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.43% at 96.47.
