Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Trading and Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Multi Finance PLC (CM:MULT), which rose 21.54% or 2.80 points to trade at 15.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Bogala Graphite Lanka PLC (CM:BOGA) added 21.53% or 6.20 points to end at 35.00 and Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) was up 15.38% or 0.20 points to 1.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which fell 19.77% or 418.80 points to trade at 1700.00 at the close. Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) declined 16.93% or 165.10 points to end at 810.00 and Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) was down 14.29% or 10.00 points to 70.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 149 to 56 and 16 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.11% or 0.04 to $33.26 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.09% or 0.03 to hit $34.77 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.22% or 2.40 to trade at $1113.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.24% to 206.315, while USD/LKR fell 0.20% to 143.690.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.44% at 99.06.
