Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Unilever NV (AS:UNc), which rose 1.74% or 0.67 points to trade at 39.23 at the close. Ahold Kon (AS:AHLN) added 1.50% or 0.28 points to end at 19.25 and KPN Kon (AS:KPN) was up 1.46% or 0.049 points to 3.409 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 12.14% or 0.56 points to trade at 4.08 in late trade. SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO) declined 3.87% or 0.43 points to end at 10.81 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) shed 2.55% or 0.57 points to 21.77.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 84 to 77 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.61% to 22.13.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 2.62% or 1.17 to $43.49 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 3.57% or 1.62 to hit $43.75 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 2.14% or 27.65 to trade at $1266.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1398, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.7913.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.26% at 94.07.
